Attorney J. Paul Vance Jr.

J. Paul Vance Jr. helps clients with personal injury matters such as workers’ compensation and medical malpractice. He is an attorney at the law firm Logan Vance Sullivan & Kores LLP located in Torrington, Connecticut. In 1999, attorney Vance graduated from Seton Hall Law and began his career as a clerk for the Connecticut Appellate Court. After working in the judicial system, he went into private practice in Hartford, Glastonbury and Waterbury.
Governor Dannell Malloy appointed Mr. Vance to the position of Claims Commissioner for the State of Connecticut in 2011. When he was the Claims Commissioner for the state of Connecticut, he had to rule on thousands of cases where people sued the government for financial compensation after suffering serious injuries or wrongful imprisonment.
Mr. Vance practices law and serves as a volunteer for a number of community and professional groups. He has held executive positions with the Connecticut Bar Association and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association. He has also served as a delegate and governor for the Connecticut Bar Association. Vance and his family reside in Watertown, and he is actively involved in the community through his volunteer work at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School (Waterbury) and other local charities. He was elected to the Waterbury Board of Aldermen and spent four terms as its president.
