Angela Schlingheyde

Angela Schlingheyde has served as the Executive Director of the Connecticut Bar Foundation (CBF) since October 2023, where she leads strategic planning, legislative advocacy, financial oversight, and departmental administration. Prior to joining CBF, she spent over eight years as the Director of Civil Legal & Court Advocacy Services at The Center for Family Justice in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
A passionate advocate for access to justice, Attorney Schlingheyde spearheaded the creation of the Justice Legal Center in 2017, Connecticut’s first legal incubator designed to support attorneys building sustainable practices focused on low- to moderate-income clients. In 2019, she also secured funding to launch the Pro Bono Legal Center, ensuring survivors of domestic and sexual violence receive trauma-informed, competent legal assistance regardless of financial means.
Attorney Schlingheyde began her career 26 years ago as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County, Florida, where she prosecuted cases involving domestic violence, sexual violence, and child abuse. She holds a Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law (1998) and a Bachelor’s degree from Boston College (1995).
