Until January 20, 2025, Rob Weiner was Senior Counsel in the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, where he focused on, among other things, hate crimes and antisemitism; discrimination; voting rights; police misconduct; and reproductive rights.  He was a partner for many years at Arnold & Porter in Washington, D.C., and also served as Senior Legal Consultant at the Campaign Legal Center, Associate Deputy Attorney General in the Justice Department, and Senior Counsel in the White House Counsel’s Office.  Rob currently chairs the ABA’s Standing Committee on Legal Aid and Indigent Defense, previously chaired the ABA’s Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service, served on the ABA Board of Governors, and was President of the District of Columbia Bar.  He is a graduate of Yale Law School and clerked for Judge Henry Friendly and Justice Thurgood Marshall.
