Alisa Whitfield
Alisa Whitfield is a staff attorney at Kids in Need of Defense, and adjunct clinical faculty at Cornell Law School in the 1L Immigration Law and Advocacy Clinic. Alisa has been working with immigrants and asylum seekers for over a decade. She has primarily focused on removal defense, with specialties in appellate litigation, asylum cases, “crimmigration” cases, and working with youth and people with disabilities. From 2019 to 2021, Alisa taught immigration law and supervised law students as a Clinical Teaching Fellow at the Immigration Justice Clinic at Cardozo School of Law. She received a BA in International Relations from Stanford University in 2008, and a JD from the University of Michigan Law School in Ann Arbor in 2013.
