Dati Katam Arma

Dati Katam Arma, originally from Indonesia, is a survivor of labor trafficking first through the Gulf States to the U.S., and then by a civil servant of her own Embassy in DC. Her circumstances led to both a criminal case—U.S. v. Prakoso, which ended with a grand jury indictment just before the trafficker fled the country—and a civil lawsuit—Arma v. Prakoso, which was brought pursuant to the Trafficking Victims Protection Act. Dati speaks basic English, but will be presenting in Indonesian, with her lawyer, Agatha, translating.
