Luis Luna

Luis Luna is a Healthcare Advocate, Organizer, and Radio Producer based in New Haven, CT. Luis has spent his career championing the rights of immigrant communities and amplifying their voices through various platforms.
He was the former Coalition Manager for HUSKY [Medicaid] 4 Immigrants, where he oversaw all aspects of the campaign, including communications, legislative advocacy, community and medical provider engagement, and supporting research initiatives. His leadership has propelled legislative victories while fostering strategic growth and effective collaboration among grassroots organizations, the medical community, advocacy groups, legislators and other stakeholders.
Prior to his role at HUSKY 4 Immigrants, Luis served as a Senior Organizer for the CT Working Families Party, where he led multi-year campaigns and supported the election of progressive candidates. Through panels, trainings, and grassroots organizing, he addressed systemic inequities in housing, healthcare, education, and labor.
In addition to his advocacy work, Luis is a radio producer and host at WPKN 89.5 FM, where he blends Latin American alternative music with discussions on social, racial, and economic justice. He is also the co-founder and producer of several podcasts focusing on incarceration, deportation, and immigrant rights.
Luis has received awards, including being named the 2023 recipient of the People’s World Amistad Award for his advocacy and contributions to social change.
